To search DeviantArt from MultiScraper, you need a free DeviantArt API key — a client ID and secret from a developer app you register — which the included helper turns into a refresh token. It takes a few minutes.
Get the client ID and secret
- Open the DeviantArt developer portal. Sign in to DeviantArt and go to your developer apps page (deviantart.com/developers/apps).
- Register an application. Create a new app. Give it any name; you only need it to issue a client ID and secret.
- Copy the client ID and secret. DeviantArt shows a client_id and client_secret for the app. Copy both.
Turn them into a refresh token
- Install Python once. Double-click setup-python.bat to set up the small environment the login helper uses.
- Run deviantart-login.bat. Run the helper, paste the client ID and secret when asked, and sign in. It exchanges them for a refresh token and saves everything to the app's local .env file.
After setup
Restart MultiScraper so it reloads the .env file. DeviantArt is now one of the sources your tag searches hit, alongside kemono and pixiv.
