Is MultiScraper safe to download?

Why Windows SmartScreen warns about MultiScraper, how to verify the download with its SHA-256 checksum, and exactly what the app connects to.

Short answer: yes. MultiScraper runs entirely on your PC, has no account, no telemetry and no cloud, and only connects to the image sites you search. The two things people reasonably worry about — the SmartScreen warning and whether the download is genuine — are covered below.

Why Windows shows a warning

MultiScraper is not code-signed yet. Windows SmartScreen shows a caution for new, unsigned apps it has not seen from many users before. It is a reputation warning, not a virus alert. To run the app, click More info, then Run anyway.

Verify the download

The surest way to know you have the real, untampered file is to check its SHA-256 checksum. Open PowerShell in your Downloads folder and run:

Get-FileHash .\MultiScraper-1.0.0-win64.zip -Algorithm SHA256

The result should exactly match the published checksum for this release:

4199a99940e12e7383801b7f44d0367d9ac6443de9f979c0a28f9d944e3d6a44

What the app can and cannot do

Current release: 1.0.0 for Windows 10/11 (64-bit).
